Social Protection Platform -The Gambia (SPPG) is a network of civil society organisations involved in and/or interested in promoting social protection in The Gambia. The platform was established in June 2012 at the end of a three day training of civil society organisations on social protection.
The vision of SPPG is a society where the poor, vulnerable and disadvantaged in The Gambia have a secure and dignified life.
Our mission is to promote an active and more equitable distribution of resources to enable People living in the Gambia to lead a decent and dignified life through their participation in social protection programmes.
SPPG is affiliated with the Africa Platform for Social Protection based in Nairobi, Kenya whose mission is create partnerships with Civil Society and other organizations to engage with the Governments and International Development Agencies (IDAs) to develop and implement innovative Social Protection strategies and programmes that make a difference in people’s lives in Africa..
